The funniest man this country has ever produced period. I'm part of the younger generation who grew up sadly after his passing but with still all the great memories and tapes of Tommy and whenever I am feeling a bit down I watch some of the re-runs that puts that smile back on my face again there will never be another Tommy Cooper never especially with these useless wannabes who call themselves comedians today Cooper will still make us laugh in fifty years time and so on god bless you tommy...

What I have learned from your tenacity is something quite unexpected. Within ourselves we (I) dread failure and the consequence associated with ?not making it?. Never quite knowing what ?it? that we (I) are wanting we to drift from one ?stage? of life to another, ?entertaining?, until one day it dawns on us and we realize what Douglas Bader, CBE, DSO and bar, DFC and bar, is quoted as saying to people like me (had I been born then) who have spent their lives ?worrying about other think of them? and thus never really being themselves:
?Don't listen to anyone who tells you that you can't do this or that. That's nonsense. Make up your mind, you'll never use crutches or a stick, then have a go at everything. Go to school, join in all the games you can. Go anywhere you want to. But never, never let them persuade you that things are too difficult or impossible.? *
Let's face it Mr. Cooper, Douglas Bader knew a few things about courage in the face of uncompromising odds. I bet, in your own way, you did too. Being 'unfunny' was a lesson in being non-conformist and I have never looked back.
Thanks again Mr. Cooper. You did it. You did not listen and that's what it takes to be at the at the top of your trade. You listened to your own sense and worked things our for you, 'just like that'.
I know this may be pure psychological projection on my part, but this takes guts-?like walking into a bar, and iron one?. Without you, and the 'bar', I?d have never been pointed in the right direction. Now I know, 'Be Thy Self: walk

An amazing man. Although it is many years since he went to Heaven, his humour and act has never died.

I could never understand how Tommy Cooper got the laughs and the fame from his 'lame-duck' magic tricks, and a few jokes. But I always fell about laughing even at the very sight of this huge man coming onto the stage. They say that the first thing you need to be a comedian is a funny face. Tommy had that and a whole wealth of talent besides. On Saturday 15th September, 2007 a local radio station is holding a 1940's Hangar Dance. In WW2 they would empty out a hangar and get a big swing band in to play, along with whatever food and drink they could find. They are holding one of these dances in aid of the local breatcare appeal, and have asked me to do a 15 minute spot. I have chosen to do a tribute to Tommy Cooper, after many hours of studying his DVD's and making the necessary props and tricks. In his memory, I will do my utmost to re-create his superb comedy both in looks, gestures and jokes.
Truly, we have lost one of the best. Your website is a great place to remember him.
