I remember watching Tommy as a child, he would make me laugh.  I watched his as a teenager, I would become hysterical.  Now, when I see recordings of him, I laugh so much I have to leave the room. Thanks for your site.  I did try to copy his picture for my pc background.

Quite simply the very best there was, there has been nobody to even match Tommy since his passing, comedians today have to result to crudities, not Tommy, you just had to look at his face to start laughing, if there is a heaven , if I make it there I hope I can meet up with Tommy, eternity will the be bliss.

Although i was only 3 when he died, i still remeber being a kid and sitting in front of the tv in fits of laughter watching this comical and wonderful man amaze me with his fumbled but brilliant majic and one-liners. R.I.P Tommy, you'll be remebered forever in my childhood memories and they are the memories that will last all my life.

His one line jokes were just as much as a hall mark as his failed magic tricks; every one of his one liners required the listener to fill in a missing space which made the joke extremely funny for the listeners who understood eg Got home and the wife said that the cat had eaten his dinner, OK I'll buy you a new cat...was typical and the listener laughed because he/she had to deduce that the wife was a bad cook.  Some of his jokes failed because the missing bit of logic in the joke was not within the capacity of the listener. I knew several people who would put everything to one side to get home because Tommy was about to appear on TV. He deserves the tremendous respect that he is still given today; his exit from this world could almost
have been in his script.  He will be long remembered.
